Born and raised in Montreal, Jake found a passion for theatre performance at a young age. In high school, he fell in love with Shakespeare, acting in nine Shakespeare productions with the Royal West Academy Bardolators. These included Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Mercutio in Romeo & Juliet, Feste in Twelfth Night, Jaques in As You Like It, Horatio in Hamlet and more. He also became enamoured with musical theatre, beginning to study voice, music theory and piano.
Jake is a recent graduate of the Dome Theatre Program at Dawson College, where some of his roles included John Cabot in Concord Floral, Hamlet in The Bad Hamlet, and the Mock Turtle & Executioner in Alice in Wonderland. He recieved the Bertrand A. Henry Memorial Award upon his graduation. Outside of school, his performance credits include Shawn in James & Ziggy (Tantalus/Fringe), Ernst in Spring Awakening (AUTS), as well as understudying the role of Jon in Rentrobuff's production of tick... tick... BOOM!. He has also spent the last two summers volunteer-coordinating for Repercussion Theatre's Shakespeare-In-The-Park tour. Jake is perhaps most known for going to the Segal Centre's Broadway Cafe so often that this September, they finally gave up and allowed him to host.
In his spare time, Jake enjoys reading, writing and playing music. He is an avid baker and gamer. In the future, Jake wants to become more well-rounded as a creator of theatre, and help bring new, boundary-pushing work to the industry.
